1) Who decides the retail price?
The retail price is a sum of the Silverhand Events & Creatives baseline price and the artist’s mark-up value.
Our baseline prices are fixed but the artist could add a different mark-up value depending on the artwork. This gives the control of the retail price to the artists rather than Silverhand Events & Creatives.
For example: Poster Printing
base price: RM5.00
+ markup: RM1.00 (assuming you mark up 20% from base price)
retail price: RM6.00
Simple huh?
Just be creative on setting up your price ok? Not too high though, or you might scare your potential buyer away ;)
2) Why do the same size prints sometimes have different prices?
Variation of the prices will depend on the artwork and the artists. Every artist might have different prices for each of their artwork even in the same print size. This also applies to each artist having different rates from one another.
However at Silverhand Events & Creatives, we provide a low cost baseline price for every artwork that gives an incentive to artists to keep their overall prices affordable.
For any artists who are buying their own prints, you will only pay for the baseline price which does not include your own mark-up. This means you are not charging yourself what you charged your customers.
3) So you take commission from sales?
NO!
Silverhand Events & Creatives will print your artwork and deliver them to your customers without charging a single cent on their sales as commission of any form of fee. Our baseline prices will remain the same for all artists and it is up to them to see how much they will impose as the mark-up.
Buyer will only be charged with additional cost for postage/shipping cost depending on their location. Buyer who chooses to collect their art work for Silverhand Events & Creatives main office will not be charged with any postage/shipping cost.
4) What Are Your Base Prices for Products?
Silverhand Events & Creatives does not charge any form of commission or fees that are often found in art galleries. The artist will add a mark-up value from our base prices which is added together to find the final retail price.
The following is our baseline prices:
5) What are Events & Creatives guidelines on content and behavior?
Silverhand Events & Creatives is looking for artworks that can make an artist recognizable. We are not a sharing site so we highly encourage artists to only send in artworks that shows their best works yet.
While Silverhand Events & Creatives will not interfere with the artists’ creative freedom, we do have limitations on what we can display on our websites.
However, there are also laws and regulations on what our website can shown in terms of content:
- No pornography or sexually explicit material is allowed. Pornographic materials are banned in this country and we would not accept or sell any such material through our website.
- We do not accept artworks that promote violent behaviour.
- All artworks and their copyright must be owned by the artist or someone who has a license to upload these artworks.
- Artists should be sensitive and avoid producing any content that can cause contempt towards race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, nationality or political ideology.
- We only accept artworks and images for sale.
6) What size or format image file should I submit?
We need big, high-resolution original files to make the best prints. We would also prefer it if you give us the number of pixels of your image which is a better indication than file size alone.
Please send in your artworks in the right format. Our format of choice is JPEG or PNG files.
Should our client require a bigger scale of your artwork, we will definitely be keeping in touch with you.
7) Is my art safe on the internet?
While the security of each and every artwork is paramount to us, it is impossible to stop every possible way there is for artwork to be stolen on the internet. This is the reality that all online artwork retailers will have to face in this business.
There are simple to complex methods that anyone can copy an image on the internet but what we can promise you is that these methods would only be able to steal artworks at the lowest quality with our watermark attached to your work.
